I must have fallen asleep when Obama made the ‘bitter’ comment as I’ve hardly heard it mentioned.
Who was the guy who said ‘nation of whiners’ wasn’t he one of McCains?
And I don’t think Obama not visiting the war wounded in Germany went down too well.
Wow, pudding, where have you been. There are bumper stickers all over America that read “I’m a bitter gun owner and I vote”. *LOL*
Well, let’s see, there’s the 57 state gaffe, the my uncle did this gaffe, the I see fallen heros in the audience gaffe, the many gaffes of not knowing the name of the city he’s in, including the one at his own convention where his daughter so sweetly pointed it out. All funny, not too damaging. The biggest thing I see as a gaffe for Obama is saying to media in 2004 that he wouldn’t consider himself qualified to run for President in 2008. That one bites worse than any, I think.
Funny we should be commenting on this. Seems he made a little gaffe just yesterday, reported today:
“In an interview Sunday with ABC’s “This Week†host George Stephanopoulos, Obama tried to suggest that FOX News and others “closely allied†to Republicans are promulgating the notion that the Illinois senator is Muslim.
Asked about whether McCain himself has done anything to suggest he’s Muslim, Obama said, “Let’s not play games. What I was suggesting — you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you’re absolutely right that that has not come…
“Christian faith,†Stephanopoulos interrupted, correcting Obama.
“… my Christian faith. Well, what I’m saying is that he hasn’t suggested that I’m a Muslim. And I think that his campaign’s upper echelons have not, either. What I think is fair to say is that, coming out of the Republican camp, there have been efforts to suggest that perhaps I’m not who I say I am when it comes to my faith, something which I find deeply offensive, and that has been going on for a pretty long time,†Obama said.
Asked whether Obama’s misstatement will continue to fuel rumors of his faith, allegiances or patriotism, the Obama campaign responded that it is clear while watching the interview that the senator was cut off by Stephanopoulos before he could self-correct.”
I don’t live in America Babs
I wouldn’t call that a gaffe Babs just a slip of the tongue.
If Michelle Obama’s - “For the first time I’m proud of my country” makes the list then so should John McCains “I really didn’t love America unitl I was deprived of her company”

Same here, pudding, a slip of the tongue is a good way to put that one. But then, that’s the definition of a gaffe, I suppose.
Babs
A gaffe is ( well i thought it was) when someone actually tells the TRUTH. Obama’s bitter statement would be a gaffe. But his 57 states is just a mistake.
Nzpudding read Michaels commentary on “over playing your trump card”. So you can see all the errors McCain made which were related to the only thing he’s supposed to reign supreme in. Making errors all over the board is one thing but making bad errors in your area of expertise is damaging. It would be the equivalent of Obama constantly making mistakes about Constitutional law. You know when McCain made the error on the suni awakening time line where he says the surge helped protect the suni shake even though the shake was assassinated. But CBS edited it out trying to save him. Or him using Al Qeida as a blanket description for any extremeist in Iraq. Or getting the borders of Pakistan and Iraq confused. ( i think it was Pakistan and Iraq).
Another gaffe…how ’bout Sarah Palin saying (prior to the gov’t bail-out) that Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac have cost the taxpayers too much for too long–as though they were gov’t organizations? Between McCain’s comment about not knowing much about the economy and her demonstrated deficiency in this area…it’s a little frightening.
