The original Clinton “3am” ad ran in Texas and was centered on terrorism and foreign policy. Apparantly the folks at the Clinton campaign through it worked so well, they decided to recycle the ad and change the topic to an “economic crisis”.

My first thought, this has to be a joke. However, I think they’re serious in pretending that an “economic crisis” causes the phone to ring at 3am in the White House. I guess if it worked once in Texas, perhaps it will help again in Pennsylvania where economic issues are probably more important than foreign policy issues. She sticks it to McCain more than Obama so one wonders why she chose to hit the candidate she’s not running against.
The most annoying part to me is the ringing phone in the background. Please, someone answer.

Announcer: It’s 3 am and your children are safe and asleep. But there’s a phone ringing in the White House and this time the crisis is economic. Home foreclosures mounting, markets teetering.
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama just said they’d solve the problem by raising your taxes. More money out of your pocket.
John McCain has a better plan. Grow jobs, grow our economy… not grow Washington.
It’s 3 am, time for a president who is ready.

Hillary is trying to show the American public that she’s the candidate who can take on John McCain. The more she attacks Obama, the lower her numbers get in the polls. Obama adopted the strategy of running against McCain months ago, I think Hillary is finally seeing the advantage of showing how she would run against the Republican candidate. It’s certainly a better plan than the in-party bickering that has come from the Democrat nomination being undecided.
Enough with the 3 am crap. Who is in hair and makeup at 3 am. This is getting ridiculous and really needs to stop. Apparently the phone doesn’t ring at any other time in the white house. If there is an economic crisis it will have to wait until 3 am before it is addressed.
Hillary is the only candidate that displays readiness to be Commander-in-Chief of the economy on Day One.
CG, I agree. I really thought it was a joke when I first saw it, too. Maybe she’ll put it to rest now that both Obama and McCain has spoiled both her 3 a.m. shots.
I’d like to see John McCain ready to address economic crisis in hair and makeup at 3am, or with a snappy yellow jacket ready at the door.
No sir, not gunna happen. And what would he don to stave off economic crisis? Tweed?????? I foresee mass foreclosures by 4:30
