Video: Obama Critiques McCain on Economy, Clinton Responds

In a speech at Cooper Union, New York, Senator Barack Obama directed much of his criticism at the Bush administration as well as McCain’s position on the economy. In framing Senator McCain’s presidential bid a “third term in the Bush Administration,” Obama increases the pressure on the GOP nominee to distinguish himself from the largely unpopular current administration.

Obama is proposing a $30 billion stimulus package for the economy and specific relief for homeowners.

Hillary Clinton has responded with her own speech on the economy, in many ways in order to maintain her position in the continuing race for the White House.

As Obama begins to shift his attention to McCain, Clinton will have to continue to re-insert herself within the discussions to maintain a perception of viability.
