During the controversy over his pastor Jeremiah Wright, Senator Barack Obama lost his edge over Hillary Clinton in the national poll estimates. However, following his speech on race and the recent backing of New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, Obama has retaken the lead according to the latest Gallup poll.
PRINCETON, NJ — Barack Obama has quickly made up the deficit he faced with Hillary Clinton earlier this week, with the latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking update on Democratic presidential nomination preferences showing 48% of Democratic voters favoring Obama and 45% Clinton.

I would tend to agree, I think the core Democrats who were supporting Obama will continue supporting him despite his stumbles in the last couple weeks. His problem now will be continuing to widen his audience in lieu of the Jeremiah Wright videos. They are becoming old news but, undoubtedly, the GOP or even the Clinton campaign will try to keep them fresh on voter’s minds.

It’s a slim lead, but I won’t lie and say I’m not a little happy about it. I hope the Obama campaign can steady the lead by addressing what the voters want to know: his economic plan and his withdrawl from Iraq in more detail for those who aren’t visiting his website (which, by the way, if you’re too anti-Obama to check it out actually does into actual solutions, not just hope and dreams).

Right from the start, obama’s voice has indeed been a voice of change. Change in the way we think, the way we act, the way we reason, especially where it concerns our personal lives, and as we relate to others (i.e in Washington). little wonder therefore that his pledged delegates are still with him despite all the mud that’s been hauled at him. I think in all of these, Obama, especially in his speech on race the other night really came across clean. Unfortunately, our friends at the Fox news Network don’t see it that way. They keep looking for pitfalls in a speech that is foolproof. And they wonder why Obama wouldn’t appear on their network. Would you, if shoes were swapped?
