Obviously the CBS Democratic Debate from Los Angeles which was supposed to air tonight was canceled a while ago due to the writers strike. Don’t ask me what writers have to do with debates but something about the Democratic candidates not crossing the picket line.

According to The Boston Globe, the December 17th Democratic CNN/Politico.com debate in Massachusetts has been canceled:

The back-to-back face-offs in Iowa sponsored by The Des Moines Register — the Republicans on Wednesday and the Democrats on Thursday — will be the last ones before the Jan. 3 caucuses, barring one miraculously materializing.

That became clear today with confirmation from CNN that it has canceled a planned Democratic debate next Monday at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston.

“Due to the early scheduling of the Iowa caucuses, organizers decided to cancel the December 17th debate in Boston,” CNN said in a statement. Politico and the library were also sponsors.

That means this Wednesday, December 12 will be the last Republican debate and Thursday, December 13 will be the last Democratic debate.

Both are sponsored by Iowa Public Television and will be carried by some local PBS stations. If your local PBS station isn’t or you don’t have time, fear not, for I will be recording and uploading both of them once they air. Iowa Public Television informed me that they will both be aired on the national PBS channel on DirecTV channel 384, and probably on Dish Network as well, not sure which channel.
