Here is Mike Huckabee’s entire appearance on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopolous from today (12/2/07):

He’s been the big news on the Republican side this week. Two polls are showing him leading in Iowa.

First, the Des Moines Register poll:

Huckabee wins the support of 29 percent of Iowans who say they definitely or probably will attend the Republican Party’s caucuses on Jan. 3. That’s a gain of 17 percentage points since the last Iowa Poll was taken in early October, when Huckabee trailed both Romney and Fred Thompson.

That’s with Romney now at 24% according to the Des Moines Register.

Second, a new Rasmussen poll:

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of the Iowa caucus finds former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee with 28% of the vote, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney with 25% support, and everyone else far behind. National frontrunner Rudy Giuliani gets just 12% of the vote in Iowa at this time while former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson is the only other candidate in double digits at 11%.

What’s more, the RCP average has him leading at 26.4% on average compared to Romney’s 26.2%. Sure, we’re talking tenths of a percent, but Romney isn’t the king in the corn field anymore.
