Romney ignores a wheelchair bound supporter at rally…

Hey everyone, Ron here from the Ron and Tom show…..

Just saw a video on CNN of Mitt Romney at one of his rallies. As he left the stage he was confronted by a young man with Muscular Dystrophy who was in a wheelchair. The young man asked the governor if he would arrest him and his doctors if he continued to use Medical Marijuana if Romney were elected. Romney flatly said to him ” I don’t support the use of medical marijuana” and that this young man should try the medical marijuana in “pill form”…the supported answered that it makes him very sick and is not effective. It was at this point that Mitt Romney simply walked away from this guy.

Another supporter who witnessed this, asked “governor, aren’t you going to answer his question” and Mitt just said, “I allready did, I do not support medical marijuana” and kept walking away. Now, I admit my knowledge on this subject is not that in depth, and perhaps someone can educate me further, but the attitude Romney showed this guy was quite shocking. It certainly appeared that Mitt could not have cared less about this guy or his pain. I wonder if this guy or for that matter any of the cadidates running for office really give a crap about the people who go out of there way to support them.

I see this behaivor in candidates form both parties so please, no one blame me for being partisan. I am sure Hillary is just as bad if not worse. Perhaps we should not send these people contributions, so they won’t be able to travel around and have 20 rallies a day, and ignore people’s questions. Perhaps we as American’s should throw some of our support to thrid party candidates who really care and have a desire to inact change in this country.

We are treated like idiots by our elected leaders because they believe we ARE idiots! It’s time for a change. Strike at them where they hurt, in their pockets.

that’s my rant….Ron

  1. Your slanted, totally misleading headline suggests that you would have preferred that Romney either conduct a citizen’s arrest or push the guy outta the way. Romney did neither. I haven’t seen the video, but from your description of the incident, Romney hardly ignored the young man.

If the young man was seeking a “yes” or “no” answer, his premise was not only loaded, but moot. Under the circumstances, Romney’s response was spot on.

Your site does not normally convey false messages via headlines. I’m disappointed that you chose this scenario to slant.

  2. I just found the video but please do keep in mind that this was an opinion piece written by Ron, one of our newest contributors from the Ron & Tom Show. That’s his opinion and apparently the opinion of some people who were around Romney at the time.

This site conveys all points of view. I appreciate your readership and welcome you to rebut his piece with your response which you have.

    I found video from CNN:

    CNN Video of the event

Watching the video, he does kind of ignore him after answering the question. I mean, I don’t expect him to spend a hour talking with him.

The video speaks for itself, we can all draw our own conclusions.

  3. Romney “Grapples With Suspicions About Religion” ?

Every time I believe that the New York Times cannot get more biased, they out do themselves. Michael Luo in today’s edition still claims that Mitt Romney is having problems with conservative Christians. Gee, Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention, Robert R. Taylor (a top official at Bob Jones University, the Evangelical Christian school with a history of anti-Mormon rhetoric), Rev. Rick Warren, Rev. Jerry Falwell, Mark DeMoss, Jay Sekulow, and yes, even Pastor John Hagee do not think so.

Yet, Luo does not claim to have spoken with any of these Evangelical leaders. His only source seems to be Oran P. Smith, president of the Palmetto Family Council, a conservative Christian group in South Carolina.

The over-analyzed Mormon issue and “complaints” against Romney’s sparkling resume’ and family life are getting tedious. Indeed, there is quit a bit of weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. The idea of a presidential candidate who believes in “being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men” is implausible to liberals and the MSM.

The man does not curse, not even a damn or a hell. His family life has been impeccable. He has (quietly) given much of his time to service in his church and community. His business acumen is incomparable, there never being a report of corporate misdeeds, an unseemly tryst, or misconduct in hiring or HR concerns.

And it’s driving the liberal press crazy! Hordes of “investigative” reporters have been digging, literally, through the Romney family’s trash, past school records, business records, family utility records, even who the sons have dated.

John McCain, meanwhile, has suddenly become a Baptist, leaving the Episcopal faith behind. Rudy Giuliani claims to be a Catholic and Fred Thompson says he goes to church, sometimes, maybe, but neither shows a single sign of their professed dogma.

Now, Michael Luo of the New York Times claims Mitt Romney has the problem with Evangelical Christians. What?

  4. It just goes to show how ignorant these candidates are. Or how they are getting their pockets filled by the pharmaceutical companies. Did you notice he was pushing a different drug on the guy? Synthetic pot? Give me a break.

I would not be suprised if I found out that Mitt got contributions from some company that manufactures synthetic pot.

  5. Well I am so shocked that Romney was just pushing his own drug. Marinol. Mitt Romney has gotten alot of contributions from the chemical company chairman of Dow Chemicals

    see this link
    http://www.newsmeat.com/c.....poulos.php

and guess what company is making marinol with dow? Solvay in Belgium

    http://news.dow.com/dow_n.....60927a.htm

I knew if I looked I could folow the path of money.

Mitt just wants everyone to buy his drug not a natural one where he cant make any mney off of it.

If he says oh I get contributions from many companies, trust me a dealer knows his product. and he was pushing it on a sick guy in a wheelchair
