Here is Fred and Jeri Thompson’s entire interview with Sean Hannity on Hannity & Colmes:

In part 3 he responds to the Dobson criticism and does so somewhat effectively I think. Especially the part where he mentions that Dobson apologized to him in the past and has not met with him at all to discuss 2008.

This interview is probably a positive cap to the negative press this week:

NEVADA, Iowa, Oct. 3 — Twenty-four minutes after he began speaking in a small restaurant the other day, Fred Thompson brought his remarks to a close with a nod of his head and an expression of thanks to Iowans for allowing him to “give my thoughts about some things.”

Then he stood face to a face with a silent audience.

“Can I have a round of applause?” Mr. Thompson said, drawing a rustle of clapping and some laughter.

“Well, I had to drag that out of you,” he said.

That’s pretty weak for someone who has the “excitement” around him like Thompson does. Without hearing his actual comments to the crowd, it’s hard to judge from this story if it’s that meaningful.
