Jon Voight blesses the troops and their families
It has nothing to do with 2008, but it is something you rarely see from an A-list Hollywood star. He was on Hannity & Colmes discussing his new movie but managed to slip this in:
I concur with Jon Voight and wish others would take the same point of view on the soldiers and their families. They truly are the greatest heroes of our time and should be honored for their sacrifice, regardless of your view on the war.
You can hate Bush and think Iraq was based on a lie, but that doesn’t mean soldiers aren’t on the ground doing their job and risking their lives for our freedom.

Something that people tend to forget is the simple fact that the United States Miltary is the largest all volunteer military force in the world. We don’t require people to serve, they choose to serve. Sure, some of them may be there for less than patriotic reasons, but that doesn’t change the fact that they chose to be there. I’m unable to serve due to a physical problem, but every day I too look up to those people who have taken that great step. They didn’t have to step up and protect me, knowing me not, but they did.
This site is correct though. It doesn’t matter what you think, what you feel, or what you believe. They’re out there fighting and dying so you CAN believe what you want, think what you think and feel whatever you want to feel. Take a moment of your day and pause. Remember those who have gone and gave their all, and those who are there every day doing just the same. Then ask yourself. Am I worthy?
I’m not. I know it, but I try. Every day I try to prove myself worthy for their sacrifice.
