In an interview with ABC’s “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama drew a distinction between left-wing “ideologues” and liberals like him who are a “little bit conservative” in their willingness to actually listen to opposing viewpoints. Good thing there are no left-wing ideologues among his supporters; a statement like that might have proved alienating.

He’s a little conservative? Come on! The man has an outrageously liberal record. He’s down the line left wing ideologue.

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., could support a war-funding bill that includes benchmarks but lacks a timetable for withdrawal, the 2008 Democratic presidential candidate told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive “This Week” interview.

But Obama made clear he opposes giving the president a “blank check” for the war in Iraq.
