FOX News Republican debate May 15th
From, ironically enough, Fox News:
WASHINGTON — All 10 Republican candidates will participate in the the 2007 First-In-The-South Republican Party Presidential Candidates Debate to be broadcast Tuesday, May 15 on the FOX News Channel from the University of South Carolina.
South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Katon Dawson said all the candidates were welcome to make their cases to voters in the state that will hold the first 2008 presidential primary conducted in the South.
“The participants in our debate ensure South Carolina voters and Republicans visiting Columbia from across the country, get a chance to hear candidates for President candidly discuss important issues facing our future. We are extremely proud to host the first truly national presidential candidates’ debate,”
I would also give information pertaining to the Democratic debate hosted by Fox News, but all the Democratic candidates except Dennis Kucinich chickened out because they can’t answer anything other than softball questions. Pathetic.
Therefore, Fox News will continue with a Republican debate which will get much higher ratings than the MSNBC debate.
As always, YD2008 will have the complete unedited video of the debate.
Of course, Fred Thompson will be absent so there will be nobody there to win the debate. Instead, the candidates will just discuss their inevitable demise to the future Thompson candidacy.

Let’s feed the candidates more questions about evolution - and toss one in about religious beliefs. I’d do that because last night Jerry Falwell reminded me how ignorant people can be. He said that global warming has not been proven by science. Technically, he is correct, of course, but this is where his insidious semantics plays water polo with a half-filled pool. Science, by its very nature, can’t “prove” anything. As human beings, we are hampered by subjective reasoning and measuring devices, to name two limitations. Science is just the best method we have for determining how things work - something the current administration either understands and hates, or dismisses as ‘those silly guys in white coats won’t tell me how life works.’ The evidence strongly suggests that evolution is a reality - it isn’t a matter of belief - and religion has no role here. It’s simply the weight of the evidence. Keep your heads in the game, freethinkers. This dark age shall pass.
place the candidates names on the screen as they answer questions., please. not all the candidates are well known to all!
It was very frustrating trying to follow the debate without knowing the name of who was speaking.
Kudos to FoxNews for a well-oganized and informative debate (and this one ALMOST was!). If only the field was narrowed to those who are legitimate contenders …. And no — I don’t consider Fred or Newt “contenders” until they make the official announcement.
Ron Paul won the debate. AMERICA’S HOPE RON PAUL. VOTE FOR RON PAUL
Why won’t you let Ron Paul speak? He is the only one who can restore the GOP after being hijacked by the Neo-cons. The war profiteering corporate monopoly owned media (whew!) doesn’t like him and is trying their best to silence him.
The only anti-war Republican, He knows what’s up and is not afraid to say it. The majority of the people are sick and tired of this war. They’ll vote for Ron Paul to end it. And as a bonus he’ll restore the Constitution.
I think ex-mayor giuliani didn’t have the perspicacity to understand what congressman Dr. Ron Paul was saying. Since Ron Paul follows the Constitution to the letter of the law and also understands what the Constitution is about, he knows that getting involved in the problems of foreign nations can only lead us into trouble. Since our own CIA had told us that Iraq was no threat to us and that they had nothing to do with 9/11 Dr. Paul voted against invading Iraq illegally. Mr. Giuliani doesn’t seem to know or understand the Constitution. Ron Paul wasn’t saying it was our fault 9/11 happened. That is still yet to be adequately determined. But there are plenty of NYPD and NYFD families who would like to know why Mr. Giuliani told those brave first responders the air was fit to breathe not equipping them with the adequate rescue equipment and are now dying and suffering severe lung damage. Was it so Wall street could stay open? Who knows? Maybe the ex-mayor knows. But the fact is, Iraqis and Americans are dying in the thousands with no end in site and Ron Paul would bring our troops home immediately. And not just from Iraq but from the Euopean Union. They can afford to protect themselves considering how strong the Euro is compared to the dollar.
America is in a horrible state for the elections this coming year. I will continue to pray…but I refuse to vote. None of these candidates are up to my standards.
Hurray for Ron Paul!
The man asks the right questions and makes the right comments. The ideology that guides him is the one we want–it’s based on the Constitution. Everybody else on the stage with the exception of Rudi Gulliani toed the Republican line, drifted off from their answers into flag waving, apple pie and airy unrealities. Paul kept looking at the realities and the expectations of someone we call “president.” That being: working within the Constitution, facing reality, working with the congress who are representatives of the people (in all their diversity), not bowing to “family values” as much as to HUMAN VALUES, recognizing and responding to who we are as a people–respect and care for others as well as ourselves.
Ron Paul has a lot to say. And we should be listening. And whomever was the journalist (Chris, was that you?)who kept gaffawing every time Paul made a comment–shame on you! That in itself is an attempt to control public opinion and you should be banned from attending a debate. In case you need reminding, a GOOD journalist is one who presents what IS without trying to manipulate public opinion. Journalism 101 in case you’ve forgotten. We need to be presented with unbiased news –not your personal opinions. We are attempting to discover our own opinions based on our own beliefs and experiences without interference from biased journalists (or news organizations for that matter.)
Thanks for the opportunity to comment.
Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate with credibility. The so-callled “top tier” candidates represent the tyranny that our founding fathers warned us about.
Dr.Ron Paul won hands down…………I want all the rights that were stolen under this administration back and Dr.Paul is the only one who will do it !
Everyone should vote for Mike Huckabee. He is the only one making ANY sense at all!!
Ron Paul won !!!!!
