Some local blogroll reaction to Romney’s announcement:

The Right’s Field:

Mitt Romney launched a fire-storm today by announcing his decision to announce his presidential candidacy at the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit. Ford was a legendary anti-Semite and Romney’s decision has already sparked condemnation by the National Jewish Democratic Council. Romney’s decision is in the tradition of Ronald Reagan’s announcement of his candidacy in Philadelphia, Mississippi, where three civil rights activists were murdered. Reagan’s announcement was seen as a signal flair to the white, conservative base in the South; who is Romney trying to reach by announcing at a museum honoring one of America’s most notable anti-Semites?

Sure, that’s it. Ronald Reagan was racist and Mitt Romney is an antisemitic. Maybe Romney is trying to signal to Democrats who don’t support Israel’s right to exist. Maybe Reagan was signaling to Robert “KKK” Byrd, Democratic senator from West Virginia and former Ku Klux Klan member.

Political Buzz:

Romney ‘08 will officially launch tomorrow in Michigan - Romney’s native state. But does anyone really care? Well, besides the Jewish group that is blasting Mitt over his campaign launch location.

OK, c’mon.

Seriously here people, does anyone believe that Mitt Romney chose the Henry Ford Museum to show his support for antisemitism? Really? Anyone?
