Ford was a legendary anti-Semite and Romney’s decision has already sparked condemnation by the National Jewish Democratic Council. Romney’s decision is in the tradition of Ronald Reagan’s announcement of his candidacy in Philadelphia, Mississippi, where three civil rights activists were murdered. Reagan’s announcement was seen as a signal flair to the white, conservative base in the South; who is Romney trying to reach by announcing at a museum honoring one of America’s most notable anti-Semites?
